Many schools built in the late 19th century didn’t survived the wrecking ball. Most school districts elected to tear down and build new, to suit growing numbers of students. Crumbling walls, tired boiler furnaces and deteriorating classrooms were just too costly to keep up. New, technology laden schools were built in their place, leaving antiquated school buildings with quiet hallways and paint-chipped walls. Such is true for the stately brick edifice found at 437 South Main Street in Bowling Green, Ohio. Remarkably, it still stands today.
