When it comes to ghost stories, there’s nothing more cliché than a haunting in a cemetery. We assume that restless spirits hover by their graves, bemoaning their deaths, suspended between this world and the next. We assume reasons for these spirits’ restlessness. We stitch together stories that provide tidy explanations of their discontent. We imagine their anguish over issues beyond their control, and their futile attempts to right wrongs from behind the veil. These two stories fit this description nicely. They just so happen to spring forth from the same rural Northwest Ohio soil.
